A baby is born and takes its first breath. At that very moment a great miracle takes place in response to that first breath. Because, apart from the miracle of the baby’s physical birth, the Universe at that very moment responds with gifting this newborn child, throughout its life, with not only its unique personal astrological blueprint but also ascertains that very specific aspects of constellations and other cosmic influences will be the foundation for this human being’s life. Within this universal cyclic rhythm nothing is at random, and even takes into consideration our own human choices, our free will. Whether that child is born the natural way or in-vitreous, by c-section, or adopted out, the Universe is gifting this child with its optimal environment, of parents or care givers, who, from an universal and astrological perspective, enhance the balance of this new human being’s world. The Universe is Gifting You – is gifting Us. And we bring that Gift into the world, and whether we do that consciously or not, we live that gift just the same. Even when we make a negative choice, we still are in service of the Universe as its teachers. This gifting occurs at every moment of the day, and, because of the ongoing changes in our lives and our days, a different aspect of who we uniquely are is being called for, yet is fully supported by this universal gifting. With a small group of people I have come together every month for a Full Moon Meditation, which gives us each month the focus of a given energy. If we happen to celebrate our birthday in that month it has added meaning, but the message of a particular zodiacal energy such as Cancer, Virgo, Leo, Libra etc. is for the whole group to apply in their lives. I have personally found that a particular zodiacal message for a given month contains an answer not only for me personally, but serves as a balance for understanding our world crisis and how to respond to it. Nothing is at random and we are constantly being supported by a Gifting Universe. Be Receiving. To receive a one page description of each Full Moon Meditation got to Lucis Trust and Twelve Spiritual Festivals as follows: https://www.lucistrust.org/resources/twelve_spiritual_festivals2

Looking at our world we despair that we continually are losing ground, especially for the sustenance of all life, of Mother Earth, and of our pursuit of happiness, to live in Beauty, Truth, and Goodness. This is our sacred dream, but having to lose it all is our Sacred Wound. In fact we bleed our loss every time we suffer yet another diminishing of our dreams for humanity and the Earth, both individually and globally, and too often from a total neglect for the Earth itself. To counteract our despair we have a tendency to immerse ourselves in our dreamworld as a form of escape, yet when we surface to our everyday realities again our losses appear to be greater. Yet we can live both the dream and the wound at the same time. Both are realities we are confronted with. Our Sacred Wound lets us know what is not of the truth and how to repair it. Often we seem to have to lose it all in order to regain our true sense of what life is all about, Then our dreamworld gets a totally different focus, of how to activate our vision with sacred activism. When we then look at our world we are in for a pleasant surprise to discover that this balance already exists: we are continually healing the loss of our wounding. Bill Plotkin in Wild Mind, page 245, writes that our present crisis are not the result of a defective species but of a species brilliantly designed by Mystery to bear a sacred wound as an essential ingredient of its journey and its promise and destiny. When we have the tendency to despair of our world, we need to look at a more complete picture of what that negativity is telling us and as a result of how to repair it. Then this journey we are on will be from a holistic perspective, rather than an escape into our dreamworlds. This is our true potential as humans having taken birth at this very timing (by the Universe!) of upheavals and loss. Bill Plotkin also mentions that it is our present human culture that is unhealthy and needs changing. We are the ones to change it. Changing it into Beauty, Truth, and Goodness, which is the Law of Unity. To follow through on that sacred activism, link up with your kindred spirits to empower each other. As an example, go to my website www.lightshipmusings.com, to EVENTS, and New Dawn Arising. Follow the links to Humanity’sTeam and its programs, and their vision to create a healthy culture for our future. How real is this Sacred Wound for you and its present crisis and breakthrough? How tempting is it for you to escape into a dreamworld and pretend our present challenges do not exist? Moorings often refers to the signposts on our journey, which whether we are aware of it or not, will give direction and momentum to our lives. It is often much later that a light-bulb goes off when a certain reality is called for. Especially when something hits me long after the book is written, this Blog comes in handy. We do not often have the luxury of reflections at the moment of a signpost, nor do many of us have total recall to remember it. Then keeping a journal is handy.
As I mentioned in my book, my dad was a gifted therapist, which was especially apparent when the polio epidemic hit. Even a little baby was affected by this polio, to great distress of the mother. As the mom could not pay for the weekly services required, Dad took the child on pro-Bono, while mom was being instructed in play therapy. The last time I saw little Ria, she was 13 years old and was given a final check up before moving on. That very last test was out on the street in front of our home rather than in the limited setting of the clinic, so we, my mom and I, were part of this great momentum. Dad, still wearing his white coat, was told to take it off. I still see Dad rolling it up and throwing it on the bench in front. Shy little Ria, now a big girl of 13, wearing a big triumphant smile, walked up and down with barely a limp! Now, we are doing a fast forward: I have moved to Canada and live out in the country and Dad has come over from Holland for a visit. Country life has not been one of Dad’s experiences and was he ever being educated in a hurry! When my husband Bill showed him the property, right by the barn they encountered a huge bear! Dad sure stayed close to home after that! There was a small lawn close to the house that needed mowing, and Dad volunteered for the job, in spite of never ever having had to mow a lawn, let alone operate a lawnmower. Our home in Holland was surrounded by parks which were maintained by the city. Dad’s approach to mowing a lawn was to cut grass wherever he saw grass that needed cutting, so he went all over the place without a system, up-crossways-down- right-left, and crossways again, to great hilarity to us watching. Well, laughing at a sensitive Pisces’ best efforts is not a fine idea! Dad was more hurt than anything. It is that hurt look that has haunted me to a degree that I still need to make amends for. It may well be that upon incarnation the Creator gave this man a choice. The choice is between little Ria and the lawnmower: one goes crooked and gives you needed humility, the other goes straight and will give you pride. Which one do you choose? It is of course for me to discover that balance and meaning of what my dad’s life was all about. However, what triggered this particular signpost is that we all hold a certain balance of humility and pride. For me that balance is about technology and writing. Technology, most certainly is my humility, especially when it finds me without any effort on my own. Yet when I enter a meditative reflection about it, the gift of my writing appears. Through the signpost of this memory Dad is showing me, long after his death, to have gratitude for the balance in my life. For him the challenge was mowing a lawn, for me it is technology. Then to discover our true gift behind it. How do you relate to this balance in your life? How do you experience the gift? Please leave a note about your experience. You do not need to write a blog, but your experience may be a seed thought for someone else. Would healing a memory make a difference for you and/or for the loved one? For both? In this blog we are discussing part of chapter 7 “Thoughts Are Actions” and how our mindfulness helps us to become aware of it. Mindfulness is becoming aware. But it is a subtle awareness, more a state of becoming conscious of a perceived reality other than what appears on the surface. It is an intuitive state that includes oneself together with the other on the path. It embraces the neighbour and the self in oneness and blessings: “Love Thy Neighbour As Thyself.” Then the embrace becomes a thoughtful and sacred action in the outcome for both. It may express itself in physical action if called for, or in verbal expression. However it is the awareness itself, the caring from the heart that creates the pregnant force for the Greater Good. Mindfulness has the greatest power when it not only embraces kindred spirits but includes the wounded spirits of humanity with compassion and understanding. How compassionate are we for that what is little understood, the different realities than what we are familiar with? Do we dare to embrace that part of humanity that has imprisoned itself within boundaries of separation, especially when it appears to be boundaries that allow no dialogue?
What is the neutral ground we dare to stand on, without losing our own securities, whether societal, or more importantly, those of our peers? |
