Looking at our world we despair that we continually are losing ground, especially for the sustenance of all life, of Mother Earth, and of our pursuit of happiness, to live in Beauty, Truth, and Goodness. This is our sacred dream, but having to lose it all is our Sacred Wound. In fact we bleed our loss every time we suffer yet another diminishing of our dreams for humanity and the Earth, both individually and globally, and too often from a total neglect for the Earth itself. To counteract our despair we have a tendency to immerse ourselves in our dreamworld as a form of escape, yet when we surface to our everyday realities again our losses appear to be greater.
Yet we can live both the dream and the wound at the same time. Both are realities we are confronted with. Our Sacred Wound lets us know what is not of the truth and how to repair it. Often we seem to have to lose it all in order to regain our true sense of what life is all about, Then our dreamworld gets a totally different focus, of how to activate our vision with sacred activism. When we then look at our world we are in for a pleasant surprise to discover that this balance already exists: we are continually healing the loss of our wounding.
Bill Plotkin in Wild Mind, page 245, writes that our present crisis are not the result of a defective species but of a species brilliantly designed by Mystery to bear a sacred wound as an essential ingredient of its journey and its promise and destiny.
When we have the tendency to despair of our world, we need to look at a more complete picture of what that negativity is telling us and as a result of how to repair it. Then this journey we are on will be from a holistic perspective, rather than an escape into our dreamworlds. This is our true potential as humans having taken birth at this very timing (by the Universe!) of upheavals and loss.
Bill Plotkin also mentions that it is our present human culture that is unhealthy and needs changing. We are the ones to change it. Changing it into Beauty, Truth, and Goodness, which is the Law of Unity. To follow through on that sacred activism, link up with your kindred spirits to empower each other.
